Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes which included her first Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway projects. It has always been her love of life. In fifth grade, she was cast as Helen Keller in an original show. In the fifth grade, after having mumps she lost her hearing in her left ear. She did not let it stop her from performing. She was a drama major at the college after which she moved from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter had her Broadway debut after a chance meeting and Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she relocated into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. A supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. Since her time in Los Angeles she has appeared featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
